1. The Service
Edit Any Text is a free, browser-based tool for changing text in PDF files and images. Files are processed on your own device. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
2. Acceptable use
You may only edit files that you own or are authorised to modify. You must not use the Service to:
- forge, falsify or alter official, legal, identity, academic, medical, employment or financial documents (for example IDs, certificates, contracts, invoices, receipts, payslips or bank statements) in order to deceive anyone;
- commit fraud, impersonate a person or organisation, or create misleading content;
- infringe copyright, trademarks or other rights of others;
- break any applicable law or regulation.
You are solely responsible for the files you edit and how you use them.
3. Your content
Your files remain yours. Because they are processed in your browser and are not uploaded, we do not receive, store or claim any rights to them.
4. Our content
The Site’s design, text, code and branding belong to Edit Any Text or its licensors. Fonts used by the editor are open-source fonts distributed under their own licences (for example the SIL Open Font License or Apache License).
5. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Results depend on the file: some PDFs use fonts or encodings that can’t be edited in place, and text recognition in images can make mistakes. Always check the edited file before you use it, and keep your original.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Edit Any Text is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us to use the Service, which is zero.
7. Third-party services
The Site uses third-party services for hosting, content delivery, analytics and advertising, described in our privacy policy. Their own terms apply to their services.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
